Sofia Vergara is preparing to launch her first fragrance, Sofia. The 'Modern Family' actress will be unveiling her new scent on April 24 at HSN. The new perfume, which is described as an oriental floral scent, was done in collaboration with fragrance house Parlux Ltd. and packaging specialist Maesa. The star was adamant about having a decisive role in the development of the project, according to WWD.com. “I usually don’t like getting into things where I don’t have a say. I just don’t want to give them my name and say, ‘Do whatever you want.’ I am trying to create my brand,” she stated.
To really put a personal spin on the new Sofia by Sofia Vergara perfume, she decided to take inspiration from her culture and even include flowers from her own country in the new scent: “I have orchids and roses because those are my favorite flowers, and they’re Colombian. I wanted to bring a little bit of who I am, my ethnicity, where I’m from, and I thought it was very cool to be able to get flowers from Colombia actually into the perfume”, the 41 year old star explained.
The new Sofia by Sofia Vergara perfume by International Flavors & Fragrances perfumer Bruno Jovanovic opens up with notes of blackberry, sparkling cassis buds and plum which are then blended with middle notes of purple violet, Colombian Rose and Colombian Orchid. Base notes of earthy woods, vanilla and sandalwood, finish off the new scent.
