The NYFW Fall 2014 edition might have just began, but it has already provided a variety of interesting options and ideas as to what types of options might find their way into fashionistas' closets in the second half of the year. Functionality seems to be a key factor that influenced the options designers are putting forward this year. Of course, the utilitarian vibe is interpreted differently across many brands, however, it seems like some trends already start contouring. The focus on leather and fur accents, the preference for geometric and abstract motifs and a concern with balancing feminine and masculine accents were among the main elements spotted so far, especially in these lines:
NYFW 2014: Coach Fall 2014 RTW Collection
The Coach fall 2014 collection marked an important milestone in the label's history as it was the first collection done under the guidance of the British designer Stuart Vevers. For his first line for the luxury label, the designer chose a familiar starting point: traditional American sportswear, reinterpreted with cinematic references from “The Shining” and “Badlands.”
