Mango's first plus size line, 'Violeta', has finally been unveiled! The Spanish retailer enlisted Australian plus size model Robyn Lawley for the new catalog which features several interesting looks with a cool casual flair. So far, the new Mango Violeta line includes mostly wardrobe staples such as chic jackets, several denim pieces and a few dresses which are cleverly combined to create a few interesting looks. Feminine, comfortable and on-trend pieces seem to be Mango's focus for the new line which is currently available to Europe-based fashionistas, but might be extended to the US if it performs well.
The desire to bring flattering options for women of all sizes was at the foundation for the new Mango plus size line according to the label.
''The secret to this new project lies in the care taken in the technical pattern details from size to size and in being able to offer a high quality collection for any moment of the day, aimed at a modern and demanding woman who wants to feel attractive, sexy and fashionable,'' a rep stated.
However, first reactions regarding the new Mango Violeta catalog which features pieces in sizes from 40 to 52 (European sizes) or 12 to 24 (in UK sizing), weren't all that enthusiastic. Though the label has been awaited with great enthusiasm by fashion aficionados, many customers have been underwhelmed by the new offerings and bothered by the assumption that size 12 falls in the 'plus size' category.
