The women's version of the Burberry Brit Rhythm fragrance will hit the counters in January. The label has launched the fragrance for men this September and is now extending its offerings with a new scent that targets specifically Millennial women.
The new Burberry scent for women is characterized by Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey as being sexy and rock 'n' roll, as he told WWD.com that the new fragrance “is aiming to capture the emotion, excitement and attitude attached to live music. It’s really that kind of adrenaline feeling that you get from music. The effect of hairs rising on the back of your neck. The moment where you are anticipating your favorite band coming on, or when you are listening to a beautiful piece. It’s a sexy fragrance because I think there is a sexiness to that kind of rock ’n’ roll world.”
The focus on rock 'n' roll has been visible for a while as many of the luxury brand's campaigns have been focused on bringing British musicians into the spotlight, including the spring 2014 campaign. The Burberry Brit Rhythm perfume for her is the creation of Givaudan perfumers Antoine Maisondieu and Nathalie Cetto, who used strong notes of English lavender as one of the defining notes of the scent as it is stronger than the typically used French variety.
