The fab Elie Saab fall 2013 couture collection put “royally opulent silhouettes” into the spotlight. The new line was incredibly predictable since the designer stuck to a handful of tones neatly organized into groups, simple shapes and very generous embellishments as always. Is predictable a bad thing? Absolutely not, especially when talking about the renowned Lebanese designer. It simply means that he rose to the high standards of excellence the label imposes and that his signature elements were once again a part of amazing dresses that are truly fit for a princess.
Red carpet worthy dresses are the designer's specialty and the newest Elie Saab couture collection for fall 2013 showcased at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week reflected the undeniable truth from the very beginning. The presentation debuted with a mesmerizing array of feminine ruby red gowns with various lengths and a multitude of intricate embellishments. Though flirty knee length dresses were also included in the new Elie Saab couture 2013 line, the focus was clearly placed on floor sweeping gowns that are always a surefire recipe for success on the red carpet. Style-wise the preference was also incredibly clear: waist-centric siren gowns with an amazing intricate upper body embroidery and spectacular embellishments.
Only the finest fabrics and embellishments are good enough for the couturier who relied on dainty and ultra feminine fabrics like fine silk, delicate lace, organza and guipure for the new Elie Saab fall 2013 couture collection. To bring its newest designs to the state of sartorial masterpieces, Saab played liberally with shiny beads, crystals, stones and sequins. Plunging necklines and sheer touches were once again the designer's way of pleasing those for whom sophistication with a sexy vibe is the true definition of perfection. The ultra sophisticated allure brought by glamorous embellishments and appliqués was heightened even more by the rich hues chosen for the new season: sapphire blue, pearl gray and amazing green tones.
As breathtaking as the Elie Saab fall 2013 couture dresses were, nothing compared with the label's traditional bridal gown, saved for the grand finale. A strapless floor-skimming princess style gown adorned with quartz, crystal and glitter and a long matching veil which looked as delicate as a spider's web in the hands of the bridesmaid that carried it. As any devoted fan of the talented couturier will tell you, this is what sartorial dreams are made of.
