The Loewe Cruz Bag campaign brings sisters Monica and Penelope Cruz into the spotlight. The two look as spectacular as always. However, this time, it's not simply a matter of representing the brand's products. Penelope Cruz has been the face of Loewe for quite some time now (we've seen her Loewe fall/winter 2013 ads a while back) and it seems she has decided to put her designer skills to the test once again and brought her sister to help her out. This is how the small Loewe Cruz Bag collection was born.
The duo has worked with Loewe’s former Creative Director, Stuart Vevers, to create a versatile handbag that matched their style. The new Cruz bag is essentially a rendition of the high end brand's popular Amazona bag. The new bag meets the sisters' two most important requirements: “We wanted to create something special but practical at the same time”, they stated a while back when the collaboration was first announced.
Indeed, the cross-body bag definitely meets practicality requirements. It's spacious, classy, modern and sophisticated. Moreover, it's made out of grained calf leather and features an adjustable bandolier strap, which means it can be worn in different ways. Those who are looking for something a little more attention-grabbing might like the polka dot version of the new Cruz bag. Why polka dots? Because, according to Penelope, the motif has an unmistakable Spanish vibe.
