The New York Fashion Week might be associated with effortlessly cool vibes and casual chic ensembles, but it doesn't mean that elegant options were completely left aside. For some designers, elegance and sophistication are the two concepts that are at the core of every creation. In the spring 2014 season, the notion of refinement is analyzed both through the lenses of classiness and Old Hollywood glamor and through contemporary and even futuristic elements. NYFW spring 2014: Kate Spade collection
Like Erin Fetherston's spring 2014 line, Deborah Lloyd's new collection is inspired by the concept of garden party. The idea seems to instill a sense of optimism into the designer's creations as she admitted that the new line is inspired by her travels and that she wanted to bring youthful yet elegant options. The new line is defined by chic vibrantly toned cocktail dresses, inspired from both the '50s and the early '60s. Pattern-wise, stripes, window-pane prints and chic abstract floral pieces dominated the new line.
