The Erin Fetherston spring 2014 collection was recently revealed at the label's Tribeca studio in New York. Inspired by her wedding, which took place in Barbados earlier this summer, the designer created a variety of romantic yet flirty dresses for the “ultimate garden party”. The happy event and the exotic location seem to have brought her a renewed sense of optimism and playfulness which were reflected in her exquisite creations, especially if we consider the dominant color palette of the new line.
Bright lime, coral and hot pink were the colors of choice for the some new line's most interesting creations, however gowns in tones of white, navy or light blue brought an additional refined touch to the new collection. The designer opted for classic silhouettes and lightweight fabrics like organza and lace for an elegant allure but brought a youthful vibe through interesting textural details, particularly with ruffles, which proved to be Fetherston's favorite motif for spring 2014. If her short dresses are mostly directed to a younger crowd, her floor sweeping gowns are timeless enough to work for more than one age group.
The Erin Fetherston spring 2014 RTW line is much more different compared to the spring 2013 line, not only in terms of inspiration but also in terms of style approach. The designer seems determined to explore her biggest strengths, focusing on what she knows best: creating elegant gowns that never fail to steal the spotlight. The brand's growing popularity seems to indicate that she has finally uncovered the style desires of her most loyal customers.
