The Kenzo resort 2014 collection is filled with attention-grabbing ensembles. This time, designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon decided to put a truly personal touch on the new offerings and chose influences from their home state California and style accents from their youth as inspiration. The label invites its fans to “wander nonchalantly through the relaxed and carefree life of a sunkissed, sunshine state citizen”. A simple glimpse at the new designs makes the invitation seem more than appealing.
For the two designers, a laid back vibe isn't synonym with unstructured silhouettes, breezy maxi dresses or pastel tees. The 'carefree life' envisioned in the new Kenzo resort 2014 collection revolves around high waisted carrot pants, cropped jackets, graphic prints and a multitude of edgy accents. The luxury retailer opts for high impact techniques like color blocking to ensure that the new ensembles will help its loyal customers avoid blending in with the crowd. With vibrant colors like bubble-gum pink, bright coral and blue, that possibility will definitely be extremely slim.
Palm tree prints evoke the feeling of summer holiday like no other motif so the prevalence of such pieces in the new Kenzo resort 2014 line is far from being surprising. What is impressive, however, is that the fact that the palm trees are actually handpainted. More unexpected was the label's choices as far as fabrics were concerned, garments in 3-D honeycomb being one of the most eloquent examples.
Standout pieces from the new line include classy jumpsuits, oversized coats, printed jackets, high waist shorts or cropped blouses. Even so, the label didn't opt for low-profile accessories. Instead, the new Kenzo resort 2014 collection brought colorful wedges, modern handbags, funky sunglasses and cute necklaces to further enhance the edgy flair of the new outfits that are incorporates elements from music, nature and art. To say the new line is intriguing would definitely be an understatement.
